I'd read an essay in high school about a a man in central Africa during the peak of chaos in the diamond trade. This man was part of a group of people who would move from village to village, collecting young men to work for them as slaves sifting and mining for diamonds. In particular, he'd wield an array of guns and a badly rusted machete. He'd seek out a pregnant woman from each village, chop the living foetus from her womb, and eat it raw.
I decided to attempt this man's mindset. This mindset, by my guestimate, would likely be sociopathic to the extent of misplaced pomposity. One in such a position may even write about themselves in the 3rd person...
